Blind dates don't have much of a reputation for working out smoothly, do they? I am sure that there are some of them that have gone okay ... but usually the gist of the story is that it either sucked or it was just kind of lame. Why is that?
Well, here are 3 reasons I came up with:
1. They are done out of obligation.
A lot of them are with the tone of, "Okay, I'll go out with him." They are not usually set up with a lot of excitement and enthusiasm. So, that just sets things up to be ho-hum at best.
2. They are done at the wrong time.
A lot of people go on blind dates when they feel really down about themselves. That's usually one of the worst times to go out with someone. You are not going to be your usual self if you are at a moment in time where you are feeling really down about the way that things have gone in your love life.
3. They are usually dinner dates.
Dinner dates are awkward when you already know something about the other person. When you know nothing at all about them and they know nothing at all about you, that just makes it 10 times more awkward.
